Bernhard's Wrath Location

Quick Answer

Bernhard's Wrath is in Level Deviled, in the Hall of Mirrors. Kneel before the transfer mirror to reach its arena, clear the enemies, then open the chest. The map-revealed route is easier to follow.

Bernhard's Wrath is a Legendary fist weapon in Level Deviled, a hidden arena in the Hall of Mirrors. Reaching the display is only part of the task: you must finish the enemy encounter before collecting the weapon from its chest.

If the area's map is still hidden, consider finishing the Hall of Mirrors route first and returning for the fists. This makes the named-room approach below easier to follow; it is route advice, rather than an extra equipment requirement.

Reach the transfer mirror

With the map revealed, start from Ferryman's Wharf and take the bottom-left exit. Continue down and left through the spike room using Flying Armor. In the next room, move to the bottom-left and defeat the Minotaur blocking the approach to the large mirror with a painting.

You can make a preparation stop at The Descent Into Memory's Mirror of Life before heading toward the transfer mirror. Saving there restores health and replenishes healing potions.

  1. Stand directly in front of the large transfer mirror.
  2. Kneel rather than trying to walk through it.
  3. Allow the mirror transition to carry Rose to Level Deviled.
  4. Find the red gloves on display and prepare for the arena encounter.

The clue Kneeling is the Way is hidden behind a breakable wall in Looping Hallways. Strike the wall if you want to collect that clue during exploration. The action you need at the transfer mirror is kneeling; collecting the clue is not described as an activation requirement.

Clear Level Deviled and open the chest

Level Deviled is the destination after the mirror transfer.

Interact with the displayed gloves to trigger the enemy group. Defeat the encounter, then open the weapon chest to collect Bernhard's Wrath. Do not leave as soon as you spot the reward: the fight is part of unlocking it.

The group includes airborne enemies as well as armed ground enemies, including Peeping Eyes, Flying Swords, knights, and Werewolves. A practical approach is to use dash attacks to reach flying targets, then move clear of the knights' attacks before closing in again. Chronomantic Dive is an optional way to hit several enemies together if you already have it; it is not a prerequisite for opening the chest.

What the fists do

Bernhard's Wrath adds healing as Rose's combo grows. Its weapon family also increases weapon damage as you land more hits, and its Arcane Whip follow-up is Uppercut. The healing effect belongs to this Legendary weapon; the hit-building damage behavior and Uppercut are fist-family properties.

These effects suit continued close-range attacks, but do not make uninterrupted attacking a requirement. Break away from an enemy's attack when necessary and resume when there is an opening.
