Library Globe Puzzle Guide

Quick Answer

Bounce across four matching constellation points on each globe to create a stronger bounce above it. Match the man, woman or skeleton pattern, then use the new point to climb toward the Observation Tower.

In the Library, bounce on the correct four points around each astronomical globe to create a stronger bounce point above it. The three designs show a man, a woman and a skeleton. Use the matching constellation pattern, then take the new upward bounce to continue through the Planetarium toward the Observation Tower.

The route and the directional patterns below are documented in S4G’s Library and constellation guide. GameTyrant’s globe walkthrough independently describes the four-point activation mechanic and shows all three completed patterns.

Reach the Planetarium through the Library

From the Clock Tower, cross Forgotten Bridge to the right to enter the Library. Continue from Library Foyer through Rhetoric Shelves, taking the northeast branch toward the Planetarium. The large reddish celestial body behind the globe platforms is the visual landmark for this part of the route.

The documented approach does not require an additional Double Jump unlock before the globe sequence. Do not treat every high platform in this section as proof that you must leave to obtain Double Jump first: the activated globes themselves supply the stronger upward bounce.

The destination here is the route through the Library. For the movement ability’s own unlock and use, continue with Aerial Rush / Dash.

Activate the three globe patterns

Identify the figure drawn on the globe before choosing a sequence. The same kind of small orbiting bounce points surrounds all three designs, but the required pattern changes with the figure.

Globe designFour-point sequenceWhere its clue is found
ManThe four lower points, left to right; the reverse also works in the documented solutionStar Chart in the Astronomer’s Office
WomanMiddle left → upper left → lower right → middle rightA Star Chart reached from the Salon side of the route
SkeletonMiddle left → upper right → middle right → lower right; the reverse also works in the documented solutionStars visible through a window in Natural Philosophy Shelves

These directions refer to positions around the globe as seen in the accompanying screenshots, not to controller button labels. Follow one connected pattern rather than bouncing across unrelated points. The success signal is an additional, more powerful bounce point at the top. Use that new point to gain the height needed for the next section.

Man globe and the Astronomer’s Office chart

  1. Look through the study rooms beside the Planetarium for the Astronomer’s Office.
  2. Examine its Star Chart. The connected stars show the pattern for the globe with a man on it.
  3. At the matching globe, bounce across the four lower points from left to right. The S4G solution also allows that connected path in reverse.
  4. When the stronger point appears above the globe, bounce from it to continue upward.
Man globe with a glowing line connecting its four lower bounce points

The man pattern follows the four lower points.

The chart is also an Occultist investigation clue. Reading a clue and carrying out the globe’s platform sequence serve related purposes, but the action that opens the upward route is reproducing the pattern on the bounce points.

Woman globe and the Salon clue

After the first man globe, continue right toward the first woman globe. Drop to the lower floor and go left through the hidden passage described in the Library route to reach its Star Chart from the Salon side.

Use middle left → upper left → lower right → middle right on the woman globe. Check both diagonal movements: copying the man globe’s lower row will not reproduce the woman’s pattern.

Woman globe with glowing connections between the required bounce points

Follow middle left, upper left, lower right and middle right.

GameTyrant shows the woman’s clue as a head-and-hand riddle combined with details in the room, followed by the activated globe. If you want to work out the clue yourself, inspect those room details; if you want to continue the route, match the completed four-point pattern above.

Skeleton globe and the window constellation

For the skeleton pattern, head to Natural Philosophy Shelves, northwest of the study room. The clue is in the night sky outside the window, rather than a third Star Chart document.

At a skeleton globe, use middle left → upper right → middle right → lower right. The reverse of that same connected path is also documented by S4G.

Skeleton globe with its four-point constellation illuminated

Follow middle left, upper right, middle right and lower right.

Do not substitute the woman’s pattern because both begin at middle left. Their second and third positions differ. Match the skeleton image, complete its four-point connection, and use the newly available stronger bounce.

Check the figure and the activation result if you are stuck

If the upward bounce point has not appeared, compare the globe’s figure with the solution again. Then check the positions you actually touched, especially the diagonals on the woman and skeleton globes.

A constellation visible in the window is useful even though it is not written on a collectible chart. Conversely, simply finding a Star Chart does not demonstrate that you have carried out its bounce sequence. The visible result to look for is the extra point above the globe.

Climb to the Observation Tower

After activating the required globe patterns along the climb, follow the newly reachable platforms and whip anchors upward into the Observation Tower above the Planetarium. The source route leads onward to Carmilla in the Observatory and notes a chair where Rose can recover before the encounter.

The globe solution does not replace the boss encounter itself. Prepare for the fight using the Carmilla boss guide. If your next objective is the Notre-Dame painting, use its dedicated route rather than assuming that reaching the Observatory alone opens the painting.
